Infogroup Data Licensing Named Top Choice for Local Citation Solutions

Industry experts recognize Infogroup citation quality for third time within yearly survey

OMAHA, Neb. – May 18, 2016 -- Infogroup Data Licensing, the provider of leading business listing management solution Bulk Update®, announced today it ranks as top choice for best value and distribution in citation solutions for the second consecutive year in the Expert Local Citation Survey 2016.

The report by BrightLocal, a UK-based provider of SEO tools for search agencies and marketing specialists, ranked first Infogroup’s listing management solutions (Express Update and Bulk Update) due to their extensive distribution network, commitment to data quality and overall value, setting these solutions apart from the competition with a double-digit advantage.

“Every year we see striking evidence of the changing nature of local search, and in 2016 it's clear that quality of citations again trumps quantity,” said Myles Anderson, founder and CEO of BrightLocal. “It is surprising how rapidly SEOs are prepared to build citations and if they prefer the manual route to aggregators. Infogroup is again seen as the aggregator who offers the best distribution and value.”

Infogroup offers two listing management solutions that meet every business need in the citations spectrum. Express Update caters to small businesses looking to claim 10 or fewer listings and gain online visibility. Bulk Update, geared towards SMBs, major brands and resellers, is a one-stop service for distributing multiple listings to hundreds of local search, navigation partners and mobile apps, reaching millions of consumers while creating data consistency in the network.

“Over the past year we’ve seen a near 40 percent increase in merchant submissions,” said Jeff Khadavi, president of Infogroup Data Licensing. “No doubt this significant growth attests to Infogroup’s ongoing commitment to invest in cutting-edge technology and the best resources in the industry.”

The BrightLocal report, now in its third year, harnesses the experience and insights on the importance of citations for local businesses and best practices in the industry from 21 local SEO experts. These experts were asked 17 questions pertaining to relevancy, quality and quantity of citations for local businesses.

MozCon Local 2016, a renowned SEO and local marketing conference, hosted a session on citation investigation. The project researched how long it takes for new citations to appear in the network when a new business is submitted to primary data aggregators.

"In our research presented at MozCon Local, we determined that Infogroup is the most effective of the data aggregators to distribute high-quality business listings into the local search ecosystem," said Darren Shaw, founder and president of Whitespark. Whitespark builds software and provides services to help businesses with local search optimization.

“The recognition by industry experts as a leader in the local listing space reflects Infogroup’s continuous investment in the quality of our business data assets,” said Mike Iaccarino, chairman and CEO of Infogroup. “We are committed to compiling the cleanest and most comprehensive data for every local business, regardless of size. Our continued investment in Bulk Update’s underlying technology, Data Axle, is a testament to the great growth we are experiencing in this space.”
